Stalling

OK
In the middle of the night I wake up and have a clear strong feeling that we all already know all about this. All this talking and thinking and reading about presence or awakening. All this seeking, the whole process feels like a stalling tactic of the mind. The ego or mental me stalling for time, which it needs in order to survive, or continue it's perception of control. Whatever "I" "do" does not appear to be helpful.
"The spiritual path". A path to where? Here? To this?...
Full stop.

Help

You are exactly right, OK. The ego cannot survive without time. The ego started you out on this journey of awakening, but the ironic thing is that it can never awaken. And it does not want you to awaken because if you do, it feels like it will die. That is why your ego keeps you seeking perpetually; to protect itself from disappearing into nothingness. It is the ego's greatest trick, “The promise of future fulfillment.” The only thing you can do is relax and assure your ego that when you become present it will not die. It will only go on hold temporarily like a telephone. And the only way your ego will begin to trust you is when you stop falling for its tricks designed to pull you out of the present moment. And the only way you can stop being tricked by the ego is by becoming so fundamentally grounded in the present moment, that you are on top of it's every move. The ego is extremely clever. Only then will it recognize that the true master has returned. It will relax, drop it's role of protecting itself from the present moment, which is really protecting you from the present moment; The very thing it stepped in to do when you were at a very young age and couldn't bear to be in a world where nobody was here. Only then will the ego take on it's true responsibility, which is managing your life within the world of time. One other thing- if you are in conflict with the ego about not being present, that is the ego being in conflict with itself- another trick designed to keep you out of presence. You must come into right relationship with your ego, which involves accepting everything that it is doing, even if it is pulling you out of presence. All you can do is catch it, say, “Good Trick, ego,” and come back to presence. Read Journey Into Now, by Leonard Jacobson . It contains the above information and everything about awakening you need to hear.

Very good comments. I have also noticed this about conflict with the ego being another trick of the ego. So perfectly clever :)
Zaadz has these questions and reflections to respond to. I think an interesting one would be “what kind of thoughts take you out of presence”? And actually, now that I have a site here, I have to say that thinking about what kind of identity I might be creating in zaadz is one thing that now takes me out of presence. I will continue on for now though. I don't think it's a problem as long as I see it.
All thought is an illusion which take you out of the present moment. Thinking is all fine and fun as long as you don't believe any of it is the truth.
I really like your photos. Did you take them?
Amen!
Oh and yes, thanks, they are photos I had in the computer that I've taken of some of my artwork and the countryside where I play around here (Wa State).
